Claim # 1057398 is a 30-cell Placer claim called "Wingdam" incorporating most of Wingdam Creek, the old gravel channels above it, and a bit of ground on the other side of Lightning Creek. Good roads cross the claim. The reports on the area indicate that the area covered by this claim has huge potential. It looks like the area has been claimed by several people but not worked since the turn of the century. The boulders and mud have been a problem in the Creek area, and lack of water on the upper ridge, and different claim owners have kept this area from being developed. This is a large claim with great potential and multiple dig sites that have already been identified. All of this area has never been held in one claim. For more information about what is happening in this area, go to YouTube and search for Wingdam Gold.

Logging and the new Barkerville Gold Mines operation have opened up areas that were previously inaccessible by vehicle. This claim is an investment in the future of mining in Barkerville!
